Dr. Heidi
Dr. Heidi Borenstein is a Toronto orthodontist who is passionate about creating healthy, confident smiles and building meaningful relationships with the patients and families she cares for.
She began her academic journey at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she earned an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences. Dr. Borenstein then moved to Boston, Massachusetts to attend Boston University, where she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine. During dental school she was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honour society and received several awards for academic excellence, including recognition from the American Association of Orthodontists.
Following dental school, Dr. Borenstein moved to New York City to pursue her specialty training in orthodontics at Columbia University, where she completed her Master’s degree and orthodontic residency.
After seven years living in the United States pursuing her dental education, Dr. Borenstein was excited to return home to Toronto to begin practicing orthodontics. She loves working with patients of all ages and believes orthodontic treatment is about far more than straight teeth; it’s about helping people feel confident in their smiles and comfortable throughout their entire treatment experience. After practicing around the GTA for the last five years, she is happy to now call Roncesvalles her home base.
Dr. Borenstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and is an active member of several professional organizations dedicated to advancing orthodontic care.
When she’s not in the office, you can find Dr. Borenstein caring for her ever-growing collection of plants, exploring the outdoors, staying active, and travelling whenever time permits.
